Get To Know The North-End of Sanchez

The upper section of Sanchez street has a new property up for sale

This lovely city street is aptly named after Francisco Sánchez, a Californio politician, military officer, and ranchero from the early to mid-1800s. Sanchez street runs from Dolores all the way south climbing the hills and valleys of Castro and Noe ending on Randall. You can actually visit Francisco Sanchez’s final resting place and headstone at the Mission Dolores Church.

The three blocks north of Market St enjoy a canopy created by mature planted trees. This coveted section feeds into the oddly shaped and dog-friendly Duboce Park. The space was originally designated a hospital site but was renamed and commemorated after Colonel Victor Duboce for his “high character, loyalty, and amiable disposition”. The park, now fitted with play structures, basketball courts, restrooms, and picnic areas retains this happy disposition. Also adding to the appeal of this neighborhood is the popular Duboce Park Cafe, which sits right on the corner of Sanchez and Duboce, serving nearby residents and park visitors alike.
