Bayview Real Estate

In 2007 the Third Street (T) line expanded into the heart of the Bayview district. The improved connection has physically and emotionally integrated the homes and inhabitants with its San Francisco counterparts. The district is home to around 13k residents with higher than average rates of home homeownership. Real estate in the Bayview is revered for being fog-free, offering Bay views, and presenting plenty of opportunities. Here are some noteworthy Bayview real estate updates:

HIGHEST BAYVIEW HOME SALE

1551 Jerrold Avenue closed October 1st after a mear 15 days on the market (well below the 42 day average for October). This 4 bed 3 bath sold for $1.16M and understandably so.  The home is large with 2,089 square feet of living space, comes with a detached garage and large yard. This home was an overbid closing 0.86% over the asking price.

HIGHEST BAYVIEW OVERBID

1978 Armstrong Avenue sold shortly after 1551 Jerrold on October 9th. This modern 4 bed 2.5 bath closed a solid 10% over asking within 33 days. The home is part of the Portola Place community.

NEWEST BAYVIEW LISTING

1352 Quesada is the most recent listing for the Bayview neighborhood. This 3 bed 2.5 bath came on the market October 28th bringing the total number of active single-family homes for sale in the Bayview to 19. Unlike other parts of San Francisco, the Bayview has far less turn-over and fewer homes for sale.  1352 Quesada is a great example of what living in the Bayview can be like. Take a look.

On the southeast corner of San Francisco, sits the sunny Bayview district. It is a neighborhood like no other with unique charm and rich history of industrial development. Formerly known as Butchertown in the 1800’s, the Bayview was home to the meat slaughterhouses that fed Bay Area residents. By the 1900’s the Bayview’s proximity to open water made it the perfect home for the booming naval and commercial shipyards.

Since then, the Bayview has become increasingly residential as San Francisco has grown. The district offers unique opportunities for buyers and sellers alike. The neighborhood caught our eye and in 2014 we made the move from Bernal Heights to the Bayview District.
