30 DAY BAYVIEW REAL ESTATE UPDATE: 3 Things to Know

Bayview Real Estate

In 2007 the Third Street (T) line expanded into the heart of the Bayview district. The improved connection has physically and emotionally integrated the homes and inhabitants with its San Francisco counterparts. The district is home to around 13k residents with higher than average rates of home homeownership. Real estate in the Bayview is revered for being fog-free, offering Bay views, and presenting plenty of opportunities. Here are some noteworthy Bayview real estate updates:

HIGHEST BAYVIEW HOME SALE

1551 Jerrold Avenue closed October 1st after a mear 15 days on the market (well below the 42 day average for October). This 4 bed 3 bath sold for $1.16M and understandably so.  The home is large with 2,089 square feet of living space, comes with a detached garage and large yard.

LOWEST BAYVIEW HOME SALE

783 Ingerson Avenue closed September 18th for $675k. An offer of $20,000 under the asking price was accepted. The home built 1914, has been updated within the last ten years and is positioned by the selling agent as a potential rental opportunity.

On the southeast corner of San Francisco, sits the sunny Bayview district. It is a neighborhood like no other with unique charm and rich history of industrial development. Formerly known as Butchertown in the 1800’s, the Bayview was home to the meat slaughterhouses that fed Bay Area residents. By the 1900’s the Bayview’s proximity to open water made it the perfect home for the booming naval and commercial shipyards.

Since then, the Bayview has become increasingly residential as San Francisco has grown. The district offers unique opportunities for buyers and sellers alike. The neighborhood caught our eye and in 2014 we made the move from Bernal Heights to the Bayview District.
